When opportunity strikes, the farm likes to try to take on new projects. One of these projects that started in 2010 and finished in 2011 was adding 800 new blue berry bushes to our garden. To start with there was a lot of soil amendments that took place with the help of UNH Cooperative Extension so the berries would have a good start. Then the right varieties were selected with the help of Commissioner Sorensen and planting took place shortly after that. Once the berries were planted they needed to have the irrigation set up along with mulching. So far at the
end of the first season this seems to have been a success.
Another project which the farm has started to take on in 2011 is building a pole barn for storage of camp wood for a new business that the farm started in 2010. A design and budget was made up first for approval. Ground work started in the fall and we hope to finish the building by the fall of 2012. Pictures and progress reports will posted on this site as they come in.
