The Carroll County Farm has other responsibilities along with all the farming that it does. One of those responsibilities is the Sewer Department which processes all the wastewater created on the complex. We have a sewer plant that takes raw sewage and processes it to a level that it can be distributed into a leach field. The discharge level is regulated by the State of New Hampshire and testing is done on bi-weekly bases to make sure we are within the level. Additional in depth testing is done twice a year by an outside firm for ground water testing that the state requires. In
order to run this sewer plant the State of New Hampshire mandates that members of the farm crew maintain a license for treatment of wastewater.
