More Information:

On behalf of the Staff and Residents, WELCOME to the Mountain View Community.  We are pleased that you have chosen to be a member of our community.  As a Resident of Mountain View, we make a commitment to provide you with comprehensive care through an interdisciplinary team consisting of your doctor, the nursing, social service, dietary, physical therapy and recreational therapy staff, and your family.

We feel that understanding your medical history and past experiences are a vital part of planning your care.  We will work together with you to best meet your needs.

The following information is provided to help answer some of your questions and help you know what to expect as a Resident of Mountain View.  If we can help provide you with further information, please let us know.

The Mountain View Community is a 103 bed Nursing Facility owned and operated by the County of Carroll.  Additionally, the nursing home is a Medicare provider enabling us to offer skilled nursing services. But more important, it is a place to live - a home - for people who need care that is unavailable or impractical in a less restrictive environment.

Your fellow residents live here for a variety of reasons.  Some are here to take advantage of 24 hour professional nursing care, others are here because they need the services of our trained nursing assistants, still others enjoy the benefits of a full range of excellent ancillary services - physical therapy, recreational therapy, dietary, and social services as well as a host of excellent consultative services including speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychiatrist, etc.

Mountain View is a place for the Staff to provide you with these services.  The staff members are trained to offer support and encouragement.  Contact with your family and friends are encouraged.  The community has flexible visiting hours so that your family and friends can visit.  Overnight leaves are allowed with your doctor’s consent.  If your medical condition limits your mobility, your family and friends are welcome and encouraged to join you here for meals any day (there is a nominal charge) and particularly on special days and holidays.  Rooms are available if you wish to have guests in for small parties or gatherings.

All Residents are encouraged to wear and use their own personal clothing and to decorate their room with personal possessions as space permits.  Most of our Residents have their own T.V., a favorite chair, their own afghans and bedspreads, and have decorated their rooms with pictures and plants from home.

All of our rooms are private and have an electric bed, a night-stand, 3 drawer dresser, bathroom and closet for each Resident.  The rooms are located in a household setting with a kitchen, dining area and living room.

As our mission statement says, we are here to “ ... provide an environment in which (you) can enjoy the highest possible quality of life.”  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to be of service to you.

                                                        Warm Regards,
                                                        Howard Chandler, Administrator
